In short

This summary helps you read the documents above; it does not replace them.

First come, first served
A name goes to whoever requests it first. The registry does not check your rights to the name: you guarantee that registering and using it does not infringe anyone’s rights (trademarks, company names…).
Holder and WHOIS
The holder is a private person or a company/organisation. For a private person, personal data is not published in the WHOIS, except the country of residence, unless they explicitly consent.
Administrative contact email
It must work and be kept up to date: the registry uses it for official communications, in particular to confirm a transfer or a change of holder. Inaccurate contact details can lead to the name being deleted.
Term and renewal
A name is registered for one year and renewed automatically every year. We remind you before it expires. If you do not want to renew, ask us to delete it before the expiry date. No refund is due for a period that has started.
Deletion and quarantine
A deleted or unrenewed name spends 30 days in quarantine, during which it can be restored for the former holder against the restore fee.
Transfer to another registrar
The transfer is confirmed by the administrative contact within 15 days. We will never oppose it, including for unpaid invoices. A transfer or a change of holder starts a new one-year period.
Personal data
We process your data on behalf of the .lu registry, only to manage your domain names. You can access it and have it corrected through us. See also the registry’s privacy policy on dns.lu.
Changes to the terms
The registry publishes any change on dns.lu at least 30 days before it applies. We inform you of its impact on your domain names.
Disputes and applicable law
The registry does not arbitrate disputes between holders and third parties. The terms are governed by Luxembourg law; the courts of Luxembourg have exclusive jurisdiction.

The French version of the registry documents is authoritative.
